Winter must be cold for those with no warm memories.

001
Was at the fabric store getting some supplies so I could complete 11 purses, that I needed to sew that next week.  Yes, that is correct.  Eleven. Purses.
Anywhooooo the way they have checkout stand at stores cracks me up... seriously genius!  Sure way to get people to spend more money and buy things they had no intention of buying when they came to the store.
While waiting in line to check out I spotted bags of these felt snowmen, candy canes, Christmas tree's, ornaments.... you get the idea.  Each package was only $1.  I grabbed 3 and a spool of there $1 ribbon, not knowing what I would do with them... just knew I didn't want to pass up that deal.
Got home and realized the backs of each felt thingy was self adhesive.  Score.... that just made things ridiculously easy.  Laid out a ribbon to the desired length.  Matched up each of my pieces so I could sandwich ribbon between them.
$4 later and about 15 minutes worth of my time and I have some winter holiday garland.
Yay!

Even if happiness forgets you a little bit, never completely forget about it.

I had big plans for many of these... time wasn't on my side this year so I made one  Yup! that's right... one.  Gave it to one of my friends for an early Christmas present to enjoy for 24 days :)
Spray painted a 24 mini muffin pan...
001
Filled it with yummy hersey kisses...

Drilled two holes at the top....put ribbon through to hang... then made cutsie covers for each of the days.... busted out the gorilla glue and attached some magnets to each day.
002
Eeeek little too dark in the house..... here's another shot.
003
Ah... much better.
Fun way to count down the days to Christmas!! :)  Everyone loves an advent calendar full of candy!

That which does not kill me makes me want to eat a cookie.

Had a request for some Seahawk cake pops.  6 football cake pops and 6 Seahawk helmet cake pops.  Eeeeeeeeek! I knew I could handle the footballs... no problem but the helmet.... the Seahawk logo on both sides of the helmet is what I was petrified of.  I did a trail run making the logo on a piece of wax paper to transfer over to the helmets. It flopped. Which meant I was going to have to melt chocolate and "draw" the logo straight onto the helmet. Double EEEEEeeeeeek!  Time to jump on in and commit to it.  It's gotta turn out if you put your all into it, right?!
001
The order was for vanilla cake with vanilla frosting.  Nothing like biting into a cake pop to find out the inside is blue!  Surprise! Teehee.  Thought maybe it would distract from the helmet that I wasn't sure would turn out.
Found a image online that became my best friend.  Showed all angles of the helmet which helped A LOT.
002
Now I debated on posting pictures... I was sure they were horrible at the time I didn't even take pictures of me making them. I know, shocking. I am very thankful that Tracy took a pic and put it on her facebook so I could steal it and show y'all the final product. Looking at them now I think they turned out pretty good.  It's like abstract art. ;) See just squint a little while looking at the helmet and you can totally make out the Seahawk Logo.
003
Tracy displayed them in the Seahawk mug... super cute!  I mean, handsome... it was a surprise for her hubby's birthday!
She loved them and
that's
all

Wine makes daily living easier, less hurried, with fewer tensions and more tolerance.

I heart me a ladies night.  Was really looking forward to this one... almost all of the original crew was going to be able to make it.  Decided to bring some candy bark for my treat to share.
001
Really simple.... crumbled oreos, pretzels, candy corn...
002
Melt some candy melts and pour over the top of the yummy mixture....
003
Sprinkle some more candy corns, sprinkles and whatever your little heart desires.... place in fridge.  Once solid break up into pieces so share with your friends.  It has been a big hit at any event I bring it to.
004
Decided to paint a Christmas plate.  I free handed the design after seeing the oh so adorable snowman in a magazine.  Above is pre-firing.
005
Finished! Yay.  Me likie.

Enthusiasm is excitement with inspiration, motivation, and a pinch of creativity.

I have been wanting to change the color of our kitchen for quite some time now.  You see the color's you pick out for your house when you are 7 months pregnant aren't exactly what you might choose in your everyday life.  Haha, which reminds me of those late nights painting... 7 months pregnant trying to balance on the kitchen counter painting the wall above the cabinets! Whew my big ol pregnant belly got more paint on it than the walls at times.  Kinda like how it seemed to catch any food that doesn't make it into your mouth.  C'mon... you know what I'm talking about.  Anywho back to paint...I was definitely done with the burnt orange color.  Not that I didn't enjoy the other color of our kitchen... it was just a bit dark and made our kitchen seem so teeny tiny.  I live in a world where change is always a good thing!  Lets do this!

I must have had all these conversations in my head because when I mentioned painting the kitchen to the hubby he seemed a bit shocked I wanted to change it.  He of course went along with my decision with a lot of "are you sure??" coming from his mouth.

Wanna know how stinking amazing my hubby is?? My idea to paint it but he stayed up late painting it for me.  Up till 3 am to make sure a 2nd coat got on it it too.  How I adore that man!

Speaking of amazing we got a killer deal on a china hutch! Fifty bucks!  Most of the other ones I had found that I was interested in were anywhere from $500-$900.  Needless to say it always got put on the back burner.  The hubby was helping a friend move and his friend said he could take home the china hutch for whopping $50!  w00t!  The hubby called me and asked what I thought... GET IT!!  For that price I didn't care what it looked like.. it just meant that I had a proper home for my Grandmother's china!!  I have been searching for one since 2008 when I was given my Grandmother's china.  The china has been sitting above my cabnets since it was given to me and ummm.. wow... does it get dirty up there!  Especially  since it was mostly sitting on the cabinets above the stove... all the yumminess from my cooking for the last 2 years was not coating every dish.  I spent a good chunk of the day scrubbing each dish twice!!  Eeek.

The china hutch was a light brown when we got it... which was a little on the plain side for me.  I suggested we paint it key lime and the look on the hubby's face was priceless.  Apparently he thought I was a bit on the crazy side but trusted me enough to paint it.  Now he loves it. :)

I didn't take any photo's of any of the painting etc... just a few pictures of loading it up that I had text the hubby along the way... here they are for your viewing pleasure.  Ignore the quality.

YAY!!!  I love!! :)
005
The Eman has his own project to work on while I was cleaning and finishing the kitchen.... He came into the kitchen and kept telling me... "It's broken mom, don't worry, I got tools, I'll fix it!"... Huh? What's broken?  What tools?  So I followed him and found him under the rocking chair in the family room with his Handy Manny tools around him... laying on his back "fixing" my chair.  Suddenly he jumped up and annouced... "This is a job for Handy Manny!" and ran off to get him.  Haha, awe how I love this little man.  He fills my days with many MANY smiles.

Charise - I didn't know you changed the color of your kitchen. Looks good and it really changes the look. We need more pics :) Nice hutch too! I also keep forgetting to tell you that I bought the exact same drapes you have in your kitchen (not really realizing you have the same ones) for our cubbies we made in our playroom (I'll be posting pics soon). Funny :)

Jme - I know see where you got it! It looks great, I also love the new color of your wall!

Mom - That's where I've seen those drapes Reese! Yea that IS funny. Aimee...kitchen looks great and the hutch is beautiful!! Gma would be thrilled that you love her china so much.

Steph - Love the new color and the new hutch.. Where did you find it??

Steph - Also happy to see a painted goblet on the top shlef that made the cut!! NICE

Aaron - So thrilled with the kitchen repaint and the hutch. A lot a work, but well worth it. The kitchen seems so much bigger and is more inviting. I am very pleased that your grandmother's china has an appropriate home :) Funny watching Elliott and Handy Manny "fix" things. I love our home!

Love is the thread that binds us together.

Sooooooooooooo...... yes.... what you are seeing is correct.  That is the quilt that I started and finished the top of as a Christmas present for Aaron last year.  Yes, it's almost October (when these pics were taken)... so? ;)
I made the top of this quilt knowing nada, zero, zip about quilting.  Before Izzie's birthday in June I took a quilting class and realized how much I did wrong on Aaron's quilt.  I am a wee bit of a perfectionist which made it that much harder for me to finish Aaron's quilt.  I finally came to terms with the fact that it wasn't going to be perfect, it wasn't going to be done correctly and that's ok.  It was made with massive amounts of love! :)
(ignore the cell phone quality pics :) )

Happiness and joy pour through me and through my life.

Got a order for some cake pops.  I heart it when Britt puts a order in... she lets me have creative freedom! ;)  She wanted some brown and pink themed cake pops.  Since getting Bakerella's book I have been wanting to give the Owls a whirl.
I made a vanilla cake that was dyed hot pink and mixed it with vanilla butter cream frosting also dyed hot pink.
