Lemon & Dark Chocolate Cake Pops! mmmmm :)

When I started making the cake for the lemon cake I started getting giddy... I could tell it was going to be amazingly moist and oh so yummy. By the time it came out of the oven I couldn't stop raving about how yummy it was going to be... how moist it was going to be... and I was sooo sure it was going to be the best cake to date because I found my secret recipe.

When I started crumbling it up I gave Izzie a taste of it... her reaction was priceless....
"Mom, this is seriously the best cake EVAH! It's so stinking good!!"
No joke, she said that... which make me a bit more giddy and giggliy and happy about my cake. Then came Izzie's next comment...
"You should put it on your blog!"
Why yes, yes I should. I knew I would be making some more cake pops later on in the week for my parents anniversary present so I saved the pics and decided to post them together.

Ms. Izzie-bizzie didn't give me the idea to blog it until I had already crumbled up the cake and started adding the frosting... soooo the lemon cake is missing a few of the first pictures. But I remembered when I was making the dark chocolate cake pops later on..
from start to finish.

When half your family is allergic to nuts... and most of the colored chocolate is processed in a facility that contains nuts you come up with other solutions.. :) Coloring your white chocolate. PINK.

I love love love how these turned out. Some of my favorite colors combined with my favorite flavors. Mmmmmm. Izzie said these were the best cake pops she has tasted of mine. Better than her Hello Kitty cheesecake pops! dang, now that's tasty!

The finished product made for my girlfriends birthday.  Love how they turned out. Definitely my favorite ones to date.

My mom loves loves LOVES dark chocolate. I busted out my dark chocolate cake and dark chocolate frosting recipes. I should have made my dad some lemon ones... I must get it from him.
Aaron loves it when I make these cake pops.

Love how these ones turned out. They were a big hit with the parents. My mom couldn't get enough of them. I really want to make some lemon ones for the daddio.. he would LOVE them. Maybe our next trip to McCall... I'll bust out a batch for him.

Whenever I bite into a cake pop there is a huge part of me that wishes there was some sort of yummy filling surprise on the inside besides cake. Maybe it's the part of me that really doesn't like cake. Yup, that's right. I'm not a fan of cake in general.

For my next cake adventure... maybe some lemon cake pops with a lemon curd filling.... or a carrot cake cake pop with a cream cheese filling... ohhhh the possibilities!!

Happy Saturday!

Take every chance
to relax,
to hope,
to heal,
to dream,
to play,
to give,
to receive...
to love.

The Mom - Yes the dark chocolate ones were wonderful! And like I told you...I smell green stuff...sell those puppies!! Doesn't everyone agree? wouldn't you buy those for someone for a birthday, anniversary etc??? Let her know!

Andrea - Mmmm, those look delicious!

Aaron - Nummy yummy cake pops! The lemon ones were awesome, but I am still a sucker for chocolate. I like the idea of making some dough ;) It is funny watching the kiddos lick the cake pops instead of taking bites sometimes. Thanks for creating such num nums! I heart Aimee!!! XOXOXO

Well hello there cute boy! We made some cake pops for a friends birthday earlier that day.. now it was time to enjoy them! Izzie said these were the best ones yet! I would have to agree with her. They were lemon cake mixed with lemon frosting coated with white chocolate. The lemon cake and frosting are my secret recipe and it's so moist and sooooooo stinking delicious!

Posted this pic because it shows Izzie's left ear. See how it's kinda flat and curves in towards the top, on the right after the top of the ear? (lol, hopefully you understood that) I think it's extra cute because I have the exact indent on my left ear in the exact same spot. Crazy, eh. :)

Echo came over to say hello and to taste one of the cake pops I had been raving about earlier that day. She was definitely a fan.

Jme's Bachelorette Par-tay!! :)

Ok...

Warning...

the cake pops you are about to view have some explicit sayings and pictures on them that go along with the theme of a bachelorette party...

you get the idea...

But I will say... the white chocolate ones are by far the best ones I have made to date. They are filled with lemon cake and lemon frosting! add the white chocolate on top and we are talking pure heaven!!

YUM!!

ok now... turn away now if you don't want to view it. :)

Cherry pie pops & Lemon injected cake pop minus the pop ;)

001

Saw these awhile back on one of my favorite blogs to "stalk". Finally got the itch to try them out for a BBQ we were going to. Ohh... they were delicious! I learned a few things for next time since this was my first time. Really looking forward to making them in the fall with pumpkin spice filling... mmm... :)
I heart pie.

Last time I made cake pops I said I wanted to try injecting something into the middle of them. I was telling my dad about the lemon cake pops I make when he was in town and he seemed really interested in them. Since we are headed to his place this weekend (and my moms ;) ) I thought I would make a batch and make them extra delicious by injecting them with lemon curd (kinda like the stuff you find inside those lemon doughnuts... mmm doughnuts) I am a sucker for all things lemon... so is my dad.
Can't wait for him to try these!

Amanda - Those look so good. My mouth is watering.

Jme - Yes the cake pops were delish. Sad that you didnt save any pie ones...those look amazing.

Aaron - Ok...ok...I am still in ultimate favor of the chocolate cake pops, but I certainly agree that the lemon were quite delicious! I definitely consumed my fair share of them...he he he. According to Elliott, these treats were "finger lickin' good!" ;) Thank you for always taking and making the time for these outstanding nummies! I heart you!!

Some days are hopscotch kind of days, some days are getting-nailed-at-dodgeball kind of days.

I made these cake pops for Reese for her birthday... dark chocolate cake with dark chocolate outside. Put them in bon bon cups and boy oh boy do I love that! Takes away a good 4 or so steps from the cake pop process.

Happy Wednesday!

cake pops... and more cake pops and more cake pops!

While the kiddos were outside enjoying the bikes and scooters Echo and I were inside cooking up a storm. The next day was KK's 10th birthday (insert Echo's squeals here saying my baby's 10!!) and Echo wanted to help making some cake pops for her party.
005
That is 104 cake pops minus the pops! ;)

Happy 10th Birthday KK!!

and Happy Sunday to everyone else :)
