Scarfs, Hats and Jewelry!! :)

001
My first knitting project completed!!
New scarf for Izzie-bizzie from the yarn she picked out.
002

Tah-dah!!! How cute is that!?!! Izzie absolutely loved it. Which made it that much more special for me.

005

Yarn for my next knitting project... once I get the hang of scarfs I'm going to move on to hats.... gloves... etc. Wooot!

006
I planned on knitting this weekend with Izzie so I brought her birthday present that she got from her BFF in Spokane the year before. It's a knitting machine! and umm.... yeah... I'm not a fan of it. But we had fun figuring it out and making a new hat for her doll Kit!

Cake pops... cake pops... more cake pops... oh cake pops... (look away Emi)

Friend Rebekah came over today with her beautiful babe Ashlyn so I could show her the tricks of making cake pops! We had just finished making the chocolate cake into balls when Ashlyn reached her ever so cute long arms to the edge of the pan and snagged one when we weren't looking!  oops.

0001

001

005

Didn't Rebekah's turn out so stinkin' cute!? She made the top ones dunked in pink and the bottom ones dunked in white.

004

002

003

And as if that wasn't enough cake pops I started working on my own batch for some up coming birthday's and adventures!

006

Except no cake this time... these bad boys are chocolate brownies mixed with cream cheese frosting before they are dunked in warm yummy oooey gooey milk chocolate.

007

Items needed for these cake pops.... Got the idea (of course) from the ever so lovely and talented Bakerella!

008

009

My batch made over 60 balls of brownies.... and ummm after doing 30 or so turkey's (it's a lot of work!!) I couldn't bring myself t make anymore of them. We were having friends over for dinner that night so I decided to make the rest of the batch look like the picture below. Whew.

010

Happy sugar coma friends!

I could give up chocolate but I'm not a quitter.

Pumpkin cake pops up for auction! w00t.

I was asked by a friend if I would make some cake pops for the high school to auction off... forget what they were raising money for... anywho... YES! of course I will. Really good that she sent me a message a couple days before the auction reminding me! whew.

The auction was held a few days before Halloween.... pumpkins pop into my head. I researched and found what seemed to be a killer pumpkin spice cake recipe. Next time I'm on time crunch I will not be trying out a new recipe.

Didn't turn out exactly how i would have liked and at one point I thought about throwing it across the room... :) then the thought of cleaning that up and starting over quickly brought me back to reality.

001

002

Busted out the seriously rich recipe for cream cheese frosting... mmm. These are the moments I curse being lactose intolerant... on the flip side I saved myself a heaping of calories! ;)

003

004

005

Pumpkin spice cake... crumbled then mixed with cream cheese frosting. Dunked in chocolate and sprinkled with orange sugar.

006

One of them got stuck to the other and when we pulled them apart it pretty much destroyed it... oops. Guess that means Aaron gets one! ;) He thought they were delicious.  I mean, who doesn't think cake pops are delicious at 2:30am when you are delirious from lack of sleep and can't stop laughing from time to time.

007

Finished product :)

My vision will come true because I believe.

I had some fabric left over after making Izzard and Kit their skirts. Friend Camille inspired me to bust out a apron for myself. I didn't have a pattern... just an idea in my head.

006

Here's the finished product! :) Isn't my hubby sexy? hehe. He cooked me an amazing salmon dinner... and since he was cooking of course I made him wear the new apron.
He liked it.

and some brownie balls for you!

My bff from High School turned 30! Last time I was in B-town she tried one of my lemon cake pops and thought it was oh so yummy. I was describing the chocolate ones to her and she started to drool (ok, not really) so I made a mental note to try those ones for her.

Somewhere along the way I started thinking about brownies and the texture and how they can be ooeey-goooey. Wonder if those would work instead of cake.... talk about a serious rich treat.
Made a double batch of brownies (mmmm) and crumbled them all up in a bowl. I could tell this was a very good choice... and I think my twin the brownie lover would heart it!  I added some dark chocolate frosting and started to mix. Texture good, yup, this is gonna be tasty!

001

The hard part about this batch is my bff from High School lives in Boise. Which means I'm gonna have to mail these. Which also meant I didn't wanna chance making them into brownie pops.... brownie balls they became. I thought they would be a little bit more secure in bonbon cups.

002

Thought about dunking them in dark chocolate... after tasting one of the brownie balls and how rich it was on it's own I decided to do the white chocolate instead. Not as rich... trying to avoid a full on sugar coma!

003

Dunked, sprinkled and a green m&m on top. Chose the green m&m because it's colorful, chocolate and reminds me of my bff in High School.
I then packaged them individually (again hoping to give them a bit more stability since they were going in the mail) and a little tag on each of them.

004
The final product!

Brownie balls :)

Once it was packaged in a bubble envelope and addressed I stuck it in the freezer for a couple hours before taking it to UPS. I ended up shipping it overnight and had images of it sitting on her front porch in the sun melting.

I watched the UPS and weather site ALL morning!

Final outcome: they arrived safe and sound and in one piece!
woooooooooot.

If at first you don't succeed...
pretend you weren't really trying.

Serious cake pops! Aaron's birthday par-tay!

Later tonight we'll be celebrating Aaron's 34th birthday. Didn't think one batch of cake pops would cover the amount of peeps coming... decided on spice cake and dark chocolate cake.

I had just finished rolling the balls of cake and was washing my hands at the sink when I heard Elliott say "Mmm.. that good cake"... what??... turn around to look at the cookie sheet of cake balls to find THREE had a bite out of them. Yup, three. Thanks buddy.

001

The finished spice cake pops.

002

Spice cake with cream cheese frosting dunked in white chocolate that was dyed blue. Made a fun little stand for them to be displayed on.

003

These bad boys are dark chocolate cake with dark chocolate frosting dunked in dark chocolate... as if that wasn't enough chocolate... there is a chocolate chip on top. Aaron was in heaven.

004

The kiddo's definitely approved!
